Toyo begins overseas marketing of vertical internal grinding machines

Chicago Show -
Toyo Advanced Technologies Co., Ltd. (Head Office:
Minami-ku, Hiroshima; President: Kenichi Yamamoto) will be exhibiting
the T-182S vertical internal grinding machine at IMTS2006 in the U.S.
This show, which will be held from September 6 to 13, is commonly called
the "Chicago Show*" and is one the world's three large international machine
tool trade shows.
The T-182S vertical internal grinding machine to be exhibited is a centerless
type and went on sale in Japan in the summer of last year. This will be
the first time for Toyo to exhibit a vertical internal grinding machine
at any exhibition in the world, including Japan, and Toyo plans to use
the Chicago Show as an opportunity to begin full-scale acceptance of overseas
orders for vertical internal grinding machines.
Toyo has built a solid track record as a leading Japanese manufacturer
of internal grinding machines. For example, in February of this year,
Toyo became the first Japanese company to achieve a cumulative production
of 10,000 internal grinding machines. Starting last year, Toyo began marketing
vertical internal grinding machines in addition to its previous horizontal
internal grinding machines and has worked to develop more model variations,
primarily in Japan.
The current series of vertical internal grinding machines comprises three
models ranging from type 1 to type 3 (T-181C, T-182S, T-183C). This enables
machining of parts with internal diameters from 1.5 mm to 700 mm. With
the basic variations in place, Toyo decided to seize the opportunity to
actively expand their vertical internal grinding machine business to overseas
markets.
In the future, Toyo will continue to develop new models based on these
three models. Currently, Toyo is developing a new ultra-large vertical
internal grinding machine capable of machining parts exceeding 1 m. As
a leading manufacturer of internal grinding machines, Toyo plans to follow
through with an even wider range of products.
