The history of Toyo Advanced Technologies dates back to 1929. Then a department of Toyo Kogyo Company Limited (today’s Mazda Motor Corporation), it began producing grinding machines for internal corporate use.

In 1989, it was decided that to generate the efficiencies required in the contemporary business environment and to expand Toyo’s field of business expertise, the company should be independent from Mazda Motor Corporation. The result was the creation of Toyo Advanced Technologies Company Limited.

Building on the base of our expertise and experience in building internal grinding machines, we look forward to making the Toyo name synonymous with a continuous tradition of craftsmanship and technical expertise. And at the same time, demonstrate that the “Advanced Technology” part of our name symbolizes our determination to move firmly into a new age, with a mission focused on the development of new business horizons.
