New series vertical grinding machine, whose structure is completely renewed, has been developed
-Two new grinders, vertical and horizontal, will be exhibited at the 25th Japan International Machine Tool Fair-
Toyo Advanced Technologies Co., Ltd. (Head office: Hiroshima, Japan; President: Yasuto Tatsuta) has developed TVG-60C, first introduction of new TVG series vertical grinding machines, and T-11LB, newest horizontal grinding machine. They will be exhibited at ‘25th Japan International Machine Tool Fair’ held at Tokyo Big Sight from October 28, 2010 and commenced practical sales marketing.
TVG is a new series of vertical grinding machines renewed its construction from previous models to enable high-precision and efficient processing with superior cost performance. It is scheduled to line-up from small to large sizes and TVG-60C-2S has been developed for works up to 600mm OD as its first introduction.
The new structure that cross-feed axis (X-axis) is separated from table axis (Z-axis) and the workspindle is placed on X-axis is employed. This arrangement reduced distortion of Z-axis by machining load and realizes high-precision grinding of straightness 1μm/300mm. Furthermore minimized heat-deformation of column by arranging coolant drain channel surrounding base enables stable size accuracy. Combining with optional touch probe, the stable grinding of size accuracy ±1μm is realized.
TAs compositions of machine, end face clamping turret unit, which has high rigidity, is employed. Two wheelheads, each exclusive for IG or OG, are mounted on turret unit to process multiple faces, such as ID, OD and end face, etc., in single chucking. Further, automatic tool changer (ATC), equipped as standard, and automatic pallet changer, option, enable unmanned operation for many hours.
As machine control, in addition to standard TOYOMATIC-4000, which is originally developed and highly reputed for CNC control of Toyo internal grinders and vertical grinders, FANUC control is prepared as an option to be chosen by customer needs.
T-11LB88 is centerless internal grinding machine suited for works which have circular OD, such as bearing rings, and is succeeding best-selling T-11LA88. The sizes and kinds of works to be ground are expanded to be applied easily for variety of works with small-lot production maintaining machine size equivalent with the previous model. Moreover the cycle time reduction is enabled by enhanced machine overall rigidity, etc.
The machine remains compact, whose width is 1700mm, equivalent to the previous model, expanding the max. work OD to 150mm from 62mm. Further workspindle swivel option, max. 30-deg., is newly prepared for high-precision grinding of tapered faces also as straight bores, to be applied to various kinds of works.
The high-rigidity honeycomb-structure base is newly employed to enhance machine overall rigidity together with employment of high-rigidity linear guides and expansion of table guides span. These enable heavier load grinding reducing cycle time by 20% and improve productivity significantly.

Vertical Multi-Face Vertical Grinding Machine [TVG-60C-2S]

◆High-precision grinding of straightness 1μm/300mm
•Reduced distortion of Z-axis by machining load and influence from Z-axis up and down movements by separation of X-axis from Z-axis (workspindle on X-axis and wheelspindle on Z-axis) that was Z-axis on X-axis (stationary workspindle and wheelspindle on Z-axis).
•High-rigidity linear guides are employed and enable straight table movement even under heavy load machining.
◆Stable sizing accuracy of ±1μm
•Reduced machining load to X-axis significantly by the separation of X-axis from Z axis. Furthermore, employment of high-rigidity linear guides and ball screw improved positioning accuracy of X-axis.
•Coolant drain channel is arranged surrounding base. This prevents column deformation by coolant heat and realizes stable size accuracy.
•Touch probe unit, measures processed size before finish and enables stable size accuracy, is prepared as an option. This enables stable size accuracy of ±1μm.
◆Unmanned operation for a long time
•High-output and high-rigidity wheelheads, each exclusive to ID and OD, are mounted on turret unit. Further ATC, can store 6 wheels, is provided as standard. Compound machining and multi-face machining are enabled.
•APC that makes it possible to setup and load/unload of plural works is provided as an option. This, combining with touch probe unit, enables unmanned and stable- processing operation for a long time.
•As machine control, the conversational CNC TOYOMATIC-4000, developed specially for grinding machines, is equipped as standard.
•FANUC CNC is prepared to be chosen as an option freely to meet with customer needs.
Centerless Internal Grinding Machine [T-11LB88]
•Floor space (W x L x H): 1,700 x 1,950 x 1,790mm
•Grindable max. work OD: φ150mm
•Grindable max. work ID: φ140mm
•Grindable max. work width: 60mm
◆Applied to variety of works up to OD 150mm
•Reviewing the structure and layout, machine capacity is significantly expanded, max. OD to 150mm from 62mm and max. ID to 140mm from 58mm.
•Workspindle swivel, used to be equipped with upper-class models, is newly prepared as an option. Max. swivel angle is 30°. This enables oscillation grinding and constant power grinding (TAC grinding) to tapered faces also.
◆Cycle time reduction by 20%
•High-rigidity honeycomb structure is employed to machine base. Further, employment of high-rigidity linear guides to X-axis and expansion of Z-axis guides span enhanced machine overall rigidity.
•Enhancement of machine overall rigidity realizes heavier load grinding and enables to shorten cycle time.
◆High-accuracy of R-form less than 1μm
•3-axis NC dress is provided as an option. This enables high-precision of R-form less than 1μm of radius grooves such as bearing rings.
◆Construction for easy maintenance
•Front door opening becomes wider for easy access to setup change.
•Movable electrical control enclosure is newly employed. This makes maintenance work easy by the access from backside of machine.
